Imagine yourself transported into a pulp sci-fi universe. You’ve already seen bubble cars (alas, even in this world, there are no jetpacks) and had a run-in with a videophone. Now you’re holed up in your cheap, noirish hotel room, and you are confronted with an object or device that reminds you of just how weird this place is, and just how far from home you are.
